Old lathe - $2

condition: like new

95 year old lathe. They don't make them like this anymore. Only 35 owners but it runs perfect. I've never had it running but it ran perfect when last used 94 years ago. Only 3 gear teeth missing which is rare for a lathe of this vintage. Has original motor! May need rewriting but super simple I just don't have the time. Ways have only had chuck dropped on it 6 or 7 times from a great height but if you're competent with machining it's incredibly accurate. Light surface rust. No tooling comes with it but tons of it available for very cheap. Almost giving it away. You don't want to let this sweetheart pass you by. I am offering this at only $2,500,000 FIRM. This was the highest price I could find on eBay so it seems reasonable. I will continue to repost at this price for the next 6 months and refuse to take anything less than I'm asking because the right buyer is out there. After which I will be keeping it and waiting until my great great great great grandchild can get my asking price. No pictures because if you can't see the value in this you don't deserve it.

That is classic! I love how his location map puts him in the middle of a lake.
He's the perfect mix of knowledgable and snarky. Love it.

I made an offer on this lathe. Here's the email I sent him.

Would ya take a flat $2 million? I have just today received news from the attorney for my great aunt that an investment she made 60 years ago in Nigeria has come to full fruition. I am expecting to get $89,000,000 any day now. Alls I have to do is send them a small handling fee of $4,000.00 U.S. Sounds like a pretty good deal.
So whaddya say?

Yes, he's going to sell it to me, but with some conditions. From the seller:

Lol. Sure, but I only if you make it post-dated third person personal check.

Just for kicks, I climbed the tallest silo elevator on the property and took this picture of the lake. Also pictured is the other sides of the property.

If you zoom waaay in, you can just see the lathe in the center of the lake, and it does have its original motor and only light surface rust! Too bad its 3 phase.

This must be the guy that I tried to buy a toolbox from last week. I went through the exact same scenario only he was in the middle of a sand pile instead of a lake.
