Has anyone ever swapped out their existing garage door windows with functioning windows? Like an awning type window?
Looked around online but didn't really find much. Seems like it would be a great solution to cool a windowless garage.

The windows in my garage door are soley to admit light. During daylight hours the provive some ambient light.

They came with the replacement garage door. For security reasons they are very high in the door. They are plastic panes in vinyl frames; more cosmetic than functional.

I got tired of bugs and spiders hanging out near those kind of windows, and the sun bleaching of things in the garage. One nice thing about a garage without them is that there is no sun bleaching on classic cars stored in the garage. Also there is a 10 second hack to break into a garage and it is easier to do when someone has those windows because you can see where and how to pull to open the door. Basically everyone has a safety pull on their garage door openers and that can be accessed from outside the door with a coat hanger or jimmy tool. I have mine wired so it can't be pulled but adding a window would let the thieves see how and also what is in the garage. With LED bulbs it costs nothing to turn on a light in the garage.

No I have not replaced the windows, as I have none to start with. I try to keep the shop closed to keep out the bugs.
