Hey thanks for the insight I never would have thought that they would have used adjustable wrenches on the line.I avoid them now at estate sales as they don’t do well on eBay. I had some Ford marked ones that at least sold. I believe they were Westcott. In Michigan you run into the tools they used on the assembly line and the addition of the Ford name helps.
I believe the reason they were so popular is back in the day bolts were oftern square. Adjustable wrenches hold square fasteners great. Square fasteners are also why you see most very old wrenches being only open end, and why most older sockets were 12pt.
Aren't the angles off for a 12pt socket on a 4pt fastner? I thought that's why they made the 8pt sockets, for square-head fasteners...
