For the life of me my funnels and hoses I use for brake bleeding etc always seem to end up either in some corner of the shop or piled on top of my oil drain barrel. I always clean them after I use them but some inherently drip, or seep oil.

I'd love to see how you guys store funnels, etc when not in use.

Drill a small hole up by the rim. Bend wire hook up by ceiling to hold funnel. Make yourself a funnel tree.

I keep my oil funnels in one of the large cheap plastic tool boxes. I just discarded the top tray, and have probably 6 or 8 different sizes crammed in. If it gets too oily, a paper towel or two fixes it. Plus, keeping the lid closed keeps shop dust and grit from getting on the funnels and possibly into whatever I am funneling in to a vehicle.

I clean them when I’m done with them. Nothing gets put away dirty.

In my shop we have a parts washer.
In my field service truck I have brakleen and rags.

Fairly simple.

I have a 5 gallon bucket with a lid. a few layers of pig mat in the bottom and it is clean storage. I always clean them after use but inherently there will still be a few drips. I cut all but two of the locks off the lid so it is not such a struggle to open and close.

Got sick of cleaning dust & crud off them everytime I needed one so went the 5 gallon bucket with a lid route. Always have cleaned them after use and it's nice when ya need one it's already clean

Smaller ones I keep cleaned in a Ziploc bag in the toolbox

I keep mine in a sterilite clear plastic tub with a lid to keep dust out. Simple, cheap, easy.

Used to think about something with paper towels in it but the stories of saturated rags and spontaneous combustion scared me away from that.

When we got rid of our old dishwasher, I kept the rack used for silverware. Looks kind of like the one shown below.

Funnels get set into the rack, and I have the rack set on an old metal baking sheet to catch drips. No mess, no fuss!

Folded Pigmat in the bottom of a sealed 15 x 12 Ziplock bag for each item. Sometimes will put half a Pigmat rolled inside the funnel. Plastic milk crate holds the bagged funnels, brake bleeding kit, and transfer hoses. Before doing this, I always had to clean dust and dirt out of the funnels...now they are clean and ready to use out of the bag.

I use a small plastic mason tub, I clean them and place into tub on shelf. I also keep an oil absorbent pad on the bottom and I also store a hand grease gun in there. I like the tub as it's plastic and rectangular so it fits nice in a shelf.

I like that funnel tree. I've always thought a Funnel Buddy would be nice to have:

Same, but I find the funnel buddy a little pricey for what it is.
I think every funnel should have a cover, so I am imaging something similar with metal disks mounted to vertical drawer slides to accommodate different length funnels. Maybe I'd incorporate several on that tree...🦧

I have a bunch of plastic Coke shells on a shelf. One is used for funnels. Whatever shop rag I'm using on the job gets put under the funnel and set in the shell on the shelf.

Just a DIYer, so the pros have a different set of needs. In my case the funnels and all the grimy stuff goes into a plastic tote bins in the shed. Includes containers of waste oil waiting for recycling, the oil drain pans, and grease gun. Next to it are gas cans. That stuff is NOT stored in the garage.

In addition to catching drips, I'm concerned about dust settling in the funnels. I use a cat litter bucket for now, but it's not an ideal solution.

Mine are in ziplock bags fat end down and set in a cabinet so they don't get much dust. I close the zip lock as far as it will go.

I always clean them out after using, couple paper towels all it takes. Used to toss them in a milk crate but they gather dust and have to be cleaned again before using the next time. Got tired of that and bought a clear tote with lid at Walmart to keep them all in. Clean and ready when I need one.

i dont use my funnels every day so i can afford to take the time to clean them up a little with brake clean and a shop towel. some of the longer ones you cant get completely clean so i also store them all in a cardboard box so that when they drip the cardboard absorbs the oil. i also put that same used shop towel in the top of the funnel so that a minimal amount of dust will get inside.

I put all mine in a trash bag.

My oil catch can also lives inside a trash bag.

trash bags get placed on a shelf with the oil can on the bottom and the bag full of funnels on top.

Brake fluid funnel gets put into a zip loc inside the trash bag since I consider it 'special'.

My grease gun is also inside a trash bag on the same shelf.

I do woodworking in the same shop my greasy stuff lives, so I can't have any of it out in the open or it will collect dust and turn to sludge.

I use a funnel only about once a quarter, they get wiped out and go on a shelf, they get looked at and maybe wiped before use.
