I use a empty 5qt oil jug and a nail hung just high enough that the the funnel goes in it but will hang from the nail. cheep and easy and, oddly enough, works to trap flying insects that might happen into it.

There is a product primarily aimed at oil bottles and draining the residue out called B.O.B. (Bottom of the Bottle), and should do the same for funnels.

Edit: added a pic, and dug out the price, 19.95 for the B.O.B. unit:

Any of these systems seem to take bench space which I don't like (and I don't use Peg board in my shop; no wall space...) so I'd probably set something like this up in the cabinet I use for oil/chemical storage, or maybe hang it on the door to that cabinet, which would also solve most of the dust settling issue.

Hey Josh i like the pvc painted it looks high tech. The Chevelle is really sweet that is my dream car. Is it yours?

It's just some metallic colored rattle can on the PVC.

Yes, the Chevelle is mine. I've wanted one since high school, and I finally bought one about a month ago.

Only problem with any of these except the funnel buddy is dust and dirt settling in them.

Ya, not sure how to solve that one without building a lid. I shoot a little brake cleaner in mine before pulling them out and it washes the dust/debris down into the drain system.

i toss my funnels into a 5 gal bucket, before use i just hit them with a squirt of brake cleaner and to use they go. I use them all day, every day, so its quick and practical

That B.O.B. thing is a neat idea, only problem is we typically use the 5qt containers. If they made one that fit that then it would rock!

How about this? a plastic mudders tray used for holding taping mud while taping and texturing (HD/Lowes..)? mount it and at an angle, make a drain into the dump container, and fab up a few retainer straps for the jugs?

Sounds doable... Though right now I just let the container sit in the funnel (big funnel) and drain while I grease the front end of my truck. I'm not getting every last drop of oil out of the container but I'm getting more than most!
