That’s a good laugh haha. Will never understand why people have such a hard time with be expected to clean up after themselves. Make the mess, clean it up. No excuses.

Though I have been known to take my own dishes to the kitchen in a restaurant. If I can’t then tidally stack them on the table. I really don’t like being served or waited on.

The contractor we've used for a couple of jobs always has his guys clean up at the end of the day. First day pr part of the day of the job is putting down floor protection on the path to the job and masking or prepping for dust containment. Every day, they sweep and/or vacuum as needed and all trash is taken off the job site even if only to the dump trailer.

I thought they just swept all the **** into the cold air returns. 😉
I use to fail many "final building inspections" because of debris is the floor ducts and returns. I was at a 1 million SF mid rise assisted living facility and a few "nasty/filthy bastards" would pizz in bottles and place the bottles on top or inside the ductwork…….. Once we found this out we stopped doing inspections on that job until everything was cleaned up.

I don't know what it is, but I find cleaning up afterwards to be the absolute hardest part of any project. No matter how many trips I make to Lowe's, or how much cussing is involved, or how ****** my knuckles get, or how many times I drop that little tiny screw... cleaning up is the hardest thing to do.
My workbench is a mess because as soon as something is done I go off to test it or have to move on to something elee. Plus, organizing (and more specifically, finding place for everything that doesn't have clearly-defined known places to go) is extremely hard.

It is my personal failing I guess...

You're probably a Tetris master and don't even know it!

One of my son has a granite countertop business, fabricating and installing them, and his policy is "leave the site cleaner than when we started". Or so I've been told by his employee.

We know it wasn't @Sparky1971.
You are correct. However, I did use my broom earlier this week; I needed some extra reach to push a 14' overhead door up a little higher. Last week I used my vacuum,,,,to **** a string through some underground conduit and later that day to clean up some potato chip crumbs off of the van floor.

For the next few days I am roughing in what I hope to be my last house. After drilling it I'll probably sweep the chips into a pile where I won't kneel down on anything, that hurts.

I'm the same way. Think it is because I work hard all day however long the work takes and when I'm done I don't have the energy to clean up. Cleaning up doesn't take much energy but guessing it's more a matter of cleaning up isn't doing work and it's not progress on the work. Just how I mentally see it. Yes a clean job site is much nicer to work in and everything but it isn't progress on the actual work in my head. I will clean up at jobs I'm doing just because I know it's expected and part of the job. If I'm doing work at my own house it's a lot easier for me to work until I can't anymore and then clean up in the morning and start fresh. Same thing when working in the shop. I just get the work done and then there are tools and stuff all over the place. I work long hours and will keep going until the work is done but as soon as it's done then a switch flips and I'm done. I may pick up a few tools as I'm walking around and put them away but actually cleaning up after working a long day is the hardest part even though it's probably the easiest part.

I’ve been roughing in my first house. And my last. What a pain in the ***. Had to stop for shoulder surgery. Going to be a while before I can get back to it.
