furnace fan speed question

I have a Bryanr plus 90i furnace that has a variable speed motor (lo,med,hi). In winter when the heat is on you can choose from all 3 speeds for it to run, or it will switch automatically depending on how much air flow is required. But in a/c mode in summer it will only work on low speed. Do you think it can be changed to run as the variable heat setting in winter or no???

I'm no HVAC man, but I would think think you would want the higher speed on the AC because the cold air is heavier?!

I'm not sure of your exact setup, if you have the evolution control or not, if your furnace has 1 or 2 stages, (I Doubt its modulating for a 90 percenter) and if your condensing unit has two stages. But I do know that the slower you move that air across the coil, the more humidity you will remove out of the home. Also, depending on your setup, it may be more efficient to run in low stage with longer run times versus high stage with low run times. :)

So if its wired to run on the low speed do you think it can be wired to run on a higher speed? It just does not seem to cool the house very well. If I manually increase the speed to med or high it will cool alot faster, but the problem there is the a/c will shut down until it is set back to low speed. The company that installed it says this is the way it should be but I just don't think they understand what i am telling them. It is all still under warranty so I am hessitant about calling another company...

There are dip switches on Bryant on the board. Like Dan said, you need the book. Without it, you are screwed. Call a Bryant dealer or original installer. They should of set it correctly on install.
