Furnace motor wiring

Hey Guys.

The motor on my furnace is on it's last legs and I need to replace it. My neighbour actually gave me a replacement motor that is brand new as he was going to replace his and then decided to change his whole furnace. My problem is I am not sure which wire is which as they are not color coded. There are a pair of wires tied togehter one has white lettering and one has nothing and then there is a seperate individual wire. I assume the lone wire is green but I need to know which of the other two are which. Is the wire with the writing on it usually black or white or is there a way to test which is which.

White wire is common and green is ground. Then there should be a couple of wires left up to four. Red will be low speed, Black will be high speed, then the other two most of the time are blue and yellow and are medium high medium low.
