So I've got my mr heater hung, and my roof is on. Before the roofers roofed, I figured out where I wanted the vent to go through the roof, so they put the flashing up for me, now all I have to do is put the pipe in and hook it up. I've got an 8/12 roof, so my vent needs to be a crazy 6 plus feet tall past the roof to clear all points within 10' of it!!! bleh. Unfortunately, I just realized that the overhead power line runs over the garage right in the area where the vent will be. If I put in a vent that was an imaginary 20' tall, it would probably clear the side of the power line by 1-1.5 feet. However i think the top of the vent will probably be about 2' away from the power line, and 1-1.5 ' to the side. Can anyone tell me what the "code" distance would be from the overhead power to the vent, both vertically and horizontally???

Not sure what the code numbers are, but a metal vent that is about 1 1/2' higher than the power line, 2' away is too high/close, IMHO.
