G-Floor / Better Life Technology flooring questions

I was at Costco today and they've put rolls of G-Floor on rebate so it's now $1.059/sq ft or $135/roll, so I'm seriously considering it, as epoxy isn't in the budget. It's the black diamond-tread pattern.

I've read a number of postings here that are generally positive about G-Floor, but I wondered if anyone can offer an update on how it's holding up for them? Shifting? Moisture underneath? Issues with impressions from heavy equipment?

Also, I have a step at the front of my garage that runs the width of the garage. Any suggestions on how to best install in this situation? I'm specifically concerned about the vertical portion of the step.

Thanks!

Let me offer a couple of observations.

First and foremost, G-Floor is a great product. I have been selling it for over a decade and I have it in my own garage for the third time (different locations.) It holds up very well. Like any product it has pros and cons.

Before you buy it a a place like Costco or Sam's I would ask them how long it has been there. So much of the cost of this product is in shipping and the club stores can present a great opportunity if they are turning the product frequently. Where the problem arises is if it has been rolled for months. The longer it is rolled the longer it will take to relax and there have been reports of customers with a persistent curl at the edges.

If the product has the G-Floor logo on it, its 75 Mil and is fresh product, that is an incredible price --well below cost.

The other thing to consider is what size is your garage and is the size they have the best size to cover your floor.

The new G-Floor small coin is officially out at limited locations. It is sure to be a 'China Killer.' It is prices ~20% less than the imported product and it is made in the USA. Its the product I put down in my own garage (and yes I know I still need the install video).

  • Creepers, jacks and toolboxes roll without issue because the pattern is close together and the wheels always stay on top of the pattern -- never falling to the base.
  • Outstanding traction
  • Inexpensive
  • Color is all the way through
  • Product is stored flat and shipped rolled

I love it!

Sorry I have not been on much... We have some major (great) news coming Thursday and I have been doing all the prep.

I like the concept of a mat, but my two concerns are:

1) Moisture underneath that others have mentioned
2) Tire stains over time

Have you been able to avoid either or both of these?

Both of these are questions that come up a lot. If you go with any PVC product tire stains are a definite risk. The manufacturer has a stain block that works very well, but like epoxy, you have to know how to deal with urethane... We have had more than one customer simply not install it correctly. I used an acrylic product called Hilway Direct. Unlike Urethane it is not permanent and requires some maintenance. If I spill something, or if water is left on it, it leaves spots that have to be mopped. I did a short video on the Hilway product.

The BLT product does not create a moisture issue, but its not going to fix one if you have it already. In other-words if you are having a moisture problem, you need to deal with that first. If not the mats help keep most of the moisture off your floor.

This has been the wettest time I have ever seen in my part of the state and moisture has not posed any issue.
