My concrete is being poured this week for my 20x24 pole building. Has anyone used G-Floor garage flooring for their garage. I attempted to include a link to Home Depot's information on it but since I am a new member I am unable to.
Pros...Cons?
I was thinking I could get my garage set up and useable quicker than using a paint or an epoxy.

We sell the G-Floor product and I have had it in my own garage as well. Like everything it has +/-

If the door is on the 20' wall you will be able to cover the entire floor with two sheets. That makes for a quick and easy installation. The floor is very attractive, installation goes very quickly and it does a great job protecting the concrete below it.

The downsides are that it can stain from tires, which can be avoided by using black. I have seen cases where expansion and contraction were an issue but when you consider how much of this product we sell, its not a huge amount

If I was doing it in my own garage again, I would use the center strip instead of the seam tape. In my last two garages, I have gone with tile

Justin, didn't look at your post first. Disregard my email. I was looking at the small coin gray colored.

I was also looking at g-floor vs pvc tile. which products is the best for management of buckling heat.. I will be putting this in the east bay area of northern california. I will have a 4 post lift and size is 20x20

Thanks,

Anselm

I just put the ribbed G-Floor product into my trailer, but had it on my garage for 2 weeks to "relax". In the short time I had it down in my garage over the bare floor, I really appreciated how much nicer it was to have something down - easy to clean, etc.

BUT - I was amazed how hard the ribbed floor is on your knees, like unbelievably hard. Even short durations of kneeling are pretty much unacceptable to me, a knee pad would be a must have. I also have had some rippling that even after weeks of letting it relax have not gone away. With a "proper" glue down application with a roller, that ensures it is fully glued and has no ripples, I think this would look exceptional. But with that type of install, it's probably not cost effective to do versus a racedeck or epoxy floor so...?

I had tiles then epoxy on the last two garages. I am considering mats due to speed but also softness vs the plastic tiles as well as epoxy. The epoxy looked amazing but had some spots that came up due to oil stains from before. The installer tried to get them out and re sanded and epoxied but it still lifted again.

The new garage has some staining so floor for speed as well as softness. Only thing that is bothering me is the expansion issues but that would be the same for tiles.

Does anyone know if the mats can support a lift or do I need to cut around the posts?

If I were going to do tile I would do rigid tile over the self stick or pvc

The G-floor garage flooring advantage,

1. Premium, durable, solid vinyl floor covering – no fillers, laminate or thin wear layers – providing years of floor protection
2. Waterproof flooring – single-piece design with no weak points to resist mold, mildew, scratching, denting, cracking, peeling, buckling and curling
3. Prevents concrete and subfloor deterioration while hiding floor imperfections
4. Resists oil, battery acid, brake fluid, anti-freeze, mud, salt, and other common chemicals
5. Simple roll-out installation – DIY trim to fit; use one vinyl floor mat or multiple vinyl flooring rolls for wall-to-wall coverage
6. No adhesive needed (unless you want a permanent installation)
Easily cleans with soap, water and a mop
7. Slip-resistant, flame retardant, anti-fatigue and sound buffering
8. Limited Lifetime Warranty

Hey Justin, I recently watched your install video on youtube. Just wondering why you would use the center strip instead of the seam tape. I thought the seam tape looked super clean!

Our new double-sided tape works well. If you have more than one seam the center strip allows for expansion and contraction.

I do not like their seam tape. The new double-sided works well. You need to let the mats relax for a week or two and then apply it. The risk with any tape at the seams is you an see some expansion issues when it gets hot and have to reposition

Does the G-floor edge trim work well for a transition at a garage door? I have a 21' x 30' garage and am looking at getting 4 rolls of the G-floor and gluing the whole thing down and using the trim at both garage doors.

Not really. It is not like a tile. It does not need to be tapered. The edge trim is more for car shows etc.
