A year or two ago I put down a pair of G-Floor mats on my previously sealed garage floor. One side is where I park my MGB. The other side is for my wife's daily driver CX7. The MGB side lays perfectly flat...always has. The other side constantly develops sort of a "wave" a couple of inches high right in the area of the right front tire. The remainder of the mat lays flat.
I know the CX7 is driven in and out of the garage much more than the MGB, but I can't figure out what causes that "wave" and how to fix it. It only occurs at the right front tire....never the left.....never at the rear. The car is always pulled in and out very slowly....always perfectly straight (steering wheel not turned).
I can pull the mat out pretty flat and the wave reoccurs within a day or two. I used double sided carpet tape under that area thinking that sticking it down might be the solution but, if anything, it made it worse.
I pulled the mat back, cleaned off all the tape and adhesive, put the mat back down flat and laid plywood in that area so the weight of the car would flatten it. After a couple of days it developed a wave just to the rear of where the plywood was!
Anyone have this issue and come up with a solution?
