I just installed two 7.5' x 20' sections of G-FLOOR , which in my case is a slate colored 50 mil (there are other versions) ribbed vinyl mat. It feels nice to walk on, and should be easy to clean so we'll have to see how it holds up to jackstands and the like over the Winter. Our local Sam's Club just started carrying them, so I though I would get a couple as an experiment. Initial layout results in some curling in spots, but it's starting to settle down and lay more flat each day. At about $140 per section (model GF720) they're not exactly cheap, but at under $1 per square foot aren't too bad relative to most of the other options out there. Again, time will tell if it's a product worth investing more in......

I've been thinking about this type of cover too, you'll definitely have to keep us update on what you think. Does it move around at all if you turn your tires on it? Do the seams between the two pieces match up very well?

After a week or so, it's laying pretty flat now (it comes packaged in a fairly tight roll) with a few stubborn wrinkles holding out as long as they can.
There is no provision to meld the edges into a seamless splice, and there were a few cutting imperfections along the 20' length that kept them from being an absolutely perfect match.....but I used the Red Green method and employed duct tape underneath the 2 sections to keep them tightly together
I have not done an intentional 'tire turning' deflection test, since our garage is a straight shot in & out, but under normal use it has not moved around that I can detect.
So far, so good.......but like I said only time will tell if it's a vaible option for the long run

I have something similiar to your G floor and found that jack stands did some permanent damage. I cut up some plywood and put them under the jack stands which solved my prolem. You may not have the problem with your floor covering but "better safe than sorry".

I'm sure you're right.
I got the thin version (only one Sam's Club has in-store) which is 50 mil, but they also make it in 65 and 80 mil which might be a better choice for heavy duty abuse.
I'll figure something out for jackstand use, which it will see a bit of during the Winter months. It sure does make the floor a whole lot more comfortable, that's for sure!

Thanks for sharing Brian. I hadn't seen that product before. Looks like it would be nice to lay on during our cold Michigan winters.

For those in warmer climates who have never had the experience of laying on an ice cold slab of cement to do your work in the winter, you just don't know what you are missing!

Red Green Method = Use lots of Duct tape.

Good timing here (and welcome Indy300 ;-), as I was about to post my experiences from last weekend.....

I have 2 cars I'm storing on the G-Floor, and normally once I have the fluid changes done & the batteries out I'll tuck them in for a long Winter's nap by moving them to the sides of the garage with a floor jack. The small grooves in the G-Floor didn't want to allow this, so I ended up moving them the old fashioned way......back & forth turning lock-to-lock until tight against the wall. This resulted in some moving (& wrinkling) of the G-Floor
It's still nice to stand on, works great as a barrier for storing cars over concrete (no undercarriage rusting issues) and looks good.....but if you plan on doing a bunch of rearranging of cars with jacks on it then there are certainly better products out there.

I have a similar mat in one of my bays. I just got done putting brakes on my F250 and found my knees were crying after kneeling on the ribs for a while. I finally started using a foam matt to kneel on. I also have wrinkled it (twice) backing my truck in (in 2 wheel drive) and spinning the wheels and I wrinkled it by moving the wheels all the way to lock while my car was not moving. I have had the mat for over 2 years and love it even with it's foibles....and yes jack stands, if they have legs without pads, will mar the mat. I found a piece of carpet under the jack stands protects them fine.

Do you think glueing it in place would fix that issue? I was thinking of this or a tile option and was happy to see some feedback on the mat.

Good question on glueing it in place.......the manufacturer's instructions make no mention of it, so you would be rolling the dice if you tried it I suppose.

I plan on taking the plunge and buying two mats from Sam's Club next week.
