Well, I think it's finally time that I post up my space which I will call the "Chevy Shop" (you'll soon see why) :bounce: Just a little bit of a back story here.. My girlfriend and I came to live at her grandparent's home after her grandfather's passing a few years ago. We have done many upgrades and renovations to the house, but the garage has been neglected to say the least... After a few years of moving stuff in and out, tripping over junk, and pulling my hair out trying to find stuff, not to mention all the inspiring threads I've seen on here, I have decided to get this place cleaned up! It will be a drawn out process, as I work as a mechanic at a fly in, fly out gold mine. And here is what everyone wants to see, pictures!! Let me know what you think, good or bad!

I apologize for the short first post, my computer does not like the multi-tasking involved with re-sizing pictures, creating a forum post, etc.. Anyways I will give a little bit more info for those who may be interested... I'm from a small town in Northwestern Ontario, Canada. The house was built in the 50's, with the smaller 16x24 garage shortly after. The 24x28 Chevy Shop was built sometime in the 80's.

after a few days of work, this is what I'm up against.. I've decided to use the small garage for storage. Lots of stuff will be sold, donated, etc.

Sheesh, all these views and no replies?? Anyways I've been slowly reclaiming the work bench, removing and disposing of JUNK! Last day of freedom tomorrow, then back to work for 2 weeks...

Excellent piece of property!

Thank you, we are very proud of our home!

That red tool box in the corner an older Mac??

No, it is a Beach toolbox, it belonged to my girlfriend's grandfather

Looks life a wonderful spot with lots of privacy. Do you have any neighbors close by?

Yes it is very private, we are at the end of a dead-end road. The second last house on the road is my girlfriend's dads place, he is maybe 500 feet up from us. We also have one house next door (a few hundred feet away). But, it is a summer residence, and they are here for maybe 3-4 months of the year.

I got a bit more done in the garage this morning. I will call this "progress", based on how it looked when we came here... I can finally set my coffee cup down on the bench!

Treated my daily 04 Silverado to some fresh oil and filter before I take the 3+ hour trip back to work..

Was hoping to get more accomplished before I leave tomorrow, but the honey-do list for this time at home still isn't done...

Wow, been a while since I've updated this... Progress has been slow but it's getting there. Last time I was home from work, my first truck load of **** tipped landfill scale at 1300 pounds! Feels good to purge the useless junk...

Bought a couple trucks to part out, and one to fix up as a driver. It's a 1995 GMC Sierra 2500, 6.5L diesel. Seems like I always end up needing a 3/4 ton truck for something, and now I have one. Needs a trans rebuild, not sure if I'll try doing it myself, or farm it out..

Been debating what I'm going to do with my shop heat situation. I've been using a wood stove the past few years, but the setup is less than ideal.. the stove is set forward, so I lose 5-6 feet of space at the back of the garage. I picked up a used Lennox Elite oil burning furnace, but have also contemplated moving the wood stove over in the corner to gain the floor space back. Can't seem to make up my mind..

Well, I've made a bit of progress over the last week or so... It's slow going, but it's going, so I'm feeling pretty good about it. I should have both bay's useable by the new year. The weather has been strangely mild, no real snow to speak of, so I've definitely been taking advantage of that. My father-in-law took his toolbox (it was his dad's) so it gave me the room I needed for my new nut n bolt/parts/knick knack bins. Now to fill it up...

Only a couple days left before I head back to work. Will post more before I leave. Thanks to everyone who's following and commenting, hopefully I can start making some real (noticeable) progress in the not-so-distant future, HA!

Now all I need to do is get rid of the mountain of jackets and rain gear, move the Polaris and truck seats over to the storage shed, and I'm laughing. Then the organizing/decluttering can commence!
