G73 Dayton problems

I installed my heater, and it seems to be less than expected. I guess Dayton states that in temperatures under 50 degrees it will cycle often and not stay on constant until it reaches temp in the room. That would be an understatement, mine runs less than a minute and then waits a couple of minutes and then runs another minute or so. Anybody have this issue?

Nash I dont have that problem granted I have a 3VU36 which is the G73's little brother but when it kicks on it runs till it reaches temp .

So, you don't say what the room starting temp was. I just hung my G73 clone this morning and my starting temp was 50º and it has been running solid for about an hour now. Dial is set to low and is already at 60º in the garage. I noticed a separate card in mine noting the low temp cycling of the fan.

Room temp was 35 degrees or so. I am going to check and see if the jumpers are set correctly for 240V

I use a LP heater to get the garage up to 40F or so and then kick on the Fahrenheat unit (same as Dayton G73). This helps to avoid the rapid cycling you mention in the above post. (And, yes, the heater is supposed to do that at especially cold temps.)

Problem solved. I traced all of the wiring inside the heater and found that the previous owner had changed jumpers around and did it wrong. Now with everything returned to new condition it works like a champ. And now of course it was 60 degrees today.
