Gable end framed with studs laid flat. How to finish inside?

The gable end of my loft was framed with the studs laid flat, in plane with my end attic truss. I have been looking for examples of how to best frame it out to provide a window sill, and allow for insulation and sheetrock. My only idea is to install the subfloor and then frame a 2x4 wall directly against the existing framing members that are laid flat. Is that standard practice, or is there a better method?

I'm confused. The sill is part of the window, the bottom on the outside.

I think you could just frame inside to get a normal depth wall.

Fair enough. I’m technically referring to the window stool, which is commonly mis-represented as the window sill.

Install the window flat to outside with nailing flange. Add what you want on the inside to make it look how you want. The stool is part of a window unit.
Thing if that was mine I’d add 2x to make a T on all those studs. More strength and room for insulation or such
