I'm conflicted. I picked up this USA Wilton 5" bench vise at an estate sale that the jaws are in decent shape, its missing the pipe jaws underneath however. But I also have this Cman 6" USA vise that I picked up not even a month ago. I had to make a locknut for the Cman one and I made it longer so I could put much more force down in locking the vise. The Cman one has about a 1/2 to 1 inch more jaw opening and has the pipe jaws underneath. The Cman jaws are practically brand new. The Cman one has chromed levers and the locknut I made from galvinized steel, which is a plus compared to the wilton that does not have any chroming which means I would need to wipe with oil to prevent rust (I hate anything thats rusty so just dealing with rust is a no go).

Biases aside..... WHICH ONE DO I KEEP!? :willy_nil

Everyone knows that the Wilton is nothing but foreign made junk. I'll be nice and just take it off your hands, just ship it out to me (at your cost.) Can't go wrong with a good-old American brand, American name like C-man.

Nobody to blame but yourself.

You must have realized at some inner level that you really needed both so even tho you had the Cman you bought the Wilton.

That Wilton will not rust. It is already rusted. The rust that is there from now on is called patina not rust. Wipe it with some light oil. The oil will protect the patina.

Is that the Wilton that takes the stamped steel pipe jaws? Good luck finding those...

I have 4 vices of varying flavors. Drilled my workbench and use carriage bolts with wingnuts for a "quick change" option.

Sell them both and find a nice Reed or Athol...

In the mean time, I would clean up & sell the Wilton... Keep the CMan since it's complete and already bolted to your workbench.

I was leaning on the same idea with the Wilton, wasn't planning on getting a Reed or Athol though but ill trust the judgement since I know you have a fetish for good vises:lol_hitti. Now I gotta choose between dark green, dark blue, or sunset red for a color.

Why are we having this conversation?

Keep both and still buy a Reed or Athol

If women can have their shoes, we can have our vices.
