Hi,

I have a standard height garage with a 4 post lift.

I can get my shelby cobra and corvette (top and bottom) with a couple of inches to spare.

Has anyone notched their garage ceiling so the top of the top car on the lift goes up into the ceiling to gain extra height?

I have a stick built roof.

Thanks.

Jeff

I don't have drywall on my ceiling but I removed several of the ceiling joists to get the extra height, effectively notching the celing as you asked. No problems

bimmer, your deal looks like mine....I have a beam spanning the width. Fortunately my garage is like 25 or so deep so I have the lift all the way to the back so it clears the door.

If I notch like you the hole car can't fit in the notch but the roll bar and windshield will with no problem.

Thanks for the pics!
