Galvanized metal grate walkway as a plasma cutting table?

Was talked into buying a galvanized grate (walkway) to use as a welding table. Wow! Bad idea.
But I just bought a plasma cutter and the grate would make a nice sized cutting table.
Wondering if abrasive blasting would be enough effort to make a safe table...removing the zinc.

Thanks.

In my experience blasting will not removed the galvanizing nor will grinding. I have even machined .125" off couplings and still got that black **** in the weld.

Do not use the galvanized coated grate. Give it away and buy something else. Like "Neggy" said the vaporing galvanizes fumes is not a good thing. 30 plus years ago I got bit by the fumes on a job. I knew better but in a rush was stupid. I lose 90% of my since of smell and to this day if I get a lung infection it takes several weeks to get over it.
Sanding, grinding, and blasting does not get the stuff off of the metal.
