Galvanized steel as workbench top

Has anyone used it as a workbench top? If so got any pics

I have one, I had it bent up in in back with a hem, for a back splash, and down in front with a hem for a smooth edge, it has worked out great for the 15 years I have had it, no pics sorry.

I haven't got any pics but a mate had his bench covered with galvanised sheet steel. It has taken everything from gearboxes to engine blocks and after a quick wipe with a wet rag it looks pretty good.

I've worked on a few benches covered with galvanized.

The worst that might happen is it'll turn white if moisture sits on it for any length of time... but it's a work bench, doubt that'll be a huge issue (the turning white part).

Our shop has a small bench covered with 20 ga galvanized, there's a few dings and dents in it, but the base isn't all that great to begin with. It's got some staining and some random discolored spots, but it's good enough for a bench.

My favorite thing about metal top benches, you can write on them with a marker, and it mostly stays until you wipe it off with a cleaner of some kind.

Deciding between galvanized or just regular sheet metal. Any input?

I had a gal top made for a 48" x 22" bench. I use it for transmission work. It's over a 1 1/4" MDF top. Works good and easy to clean.
