Over Easter I visited some friends and asked about his well tank. He's claimed he's had it for 25 years and never has had to do anything with it. It has no air bladder or air volume control valve to go bad. So I don't understand how it develops pressure so the pump doesn't short cycle every time you turn the water on. Not sire if it matters, but he has a shallow well pump where you have to pull it out of the ground when it goes bad. Pretty sure he's had to do that atleast once, but he's never had to drain the water out oxcassionally or adjust the pressure of the air bladder to keep an airpad at the top of the tank. My setup is a jet pump where the pump is above ground and right next to the well tank, but mine has an air volume control valve and every 3 months or so I have to drain the water out and refill it so it retains the airpad so the pump doesn't turn on so often. This setup *****. I want to get one of these galvanized units or maybe even two of them side by side so I have a good 160 gallons or so and just have the thing cycle on like once a day and pump like 50 gallons into the tanks for the whole days water usage. Is this possible with two 80 gallon or even 100 gallon tanks? Looks like it's a galvanized hydropneamatic tank whatever that means.
