Good day everyone. Couple questions regarding plumbing . Is this ****** in the pictures coming out of my hot water tank galvanized or? If it is galvanized,do I need to use a dielectric fitting? Is it ok to use galvanized for domestic hot water? I was going to extend this with fittings to expansion tank then to pex. Thanks for the help

Yes it's galvanized and can be used domestic hot water. Use a dia union to separate ex tank and pex connection.

Dielectric unions are needed to join copper pipe to the galvanized pipe. If you use galvanized to the expansion tank and then a brass or plastic pex fitting there to connect the pex to no dielectric union is necessary.

Brass is ok on galvanized iron and the pex tubing itself isolates anything down stream.
