Bought that exact light in Iraq over 10 years ago! It's in my garage somewhere, and I replaced it with a Petzl a couple of years ago.

For me, I'd have to agree with those who've called the internet and smart phones game changers. Anytime I encounter something I'm not familiar with a quick internet search (usually on the smart phone) provides a quick answer.

Cordless impacts are another game changer for me. No more than I used one, my old B&D 14.4v drill used to be sufficient. Two years ago I bought a 18v lithium Porter Cable set that included an impact. Now I look for stuff to use it with, and have done a number of projects the drill driver would be less than optimal for. Heck, the lithium system also impresses me, and I've added the vacuum as well as both circular and reciprocating saws to my kit. Total investment so far is around $150. If/when I find the PC jigsaw, inflator, grinder, or another tool for the right price they'll be added too.
