Garage A/C

I just visited a buddy that added on to his garage. He is inthe a/C business so he decided to install a unit to keep his mancave cool. He put in an LG unit that was really nice. Not terriblly expensive, nice and quite and will cool and heat up to 1200 sq. ft. Not trying to sell anything here just thought I would throw this out for everyone.

yep they are sweet my buddy had one on his house he does ac and i got 2 installed at my place tempted to get one for my small work shop to. Very good idea if putting in a reg heatpump will not work i think

Is that what is referred to as a "mini-split"? It has an outside and an inside component? Or is that one completely self contained in one inside unit?

A mini split is when you have a inside and outside unit. depending on size they have 110 and 220 ones and are conected with 2 copper pipes 4 wires then the inside unit has a drain. they are ferly quiet to

The LG units in the link are mini-splits, like all the others, with the compressor/condenser outside and the evaporator/air handler inside - apparently their marketing types chose to call them "single-splits" for some reason.

I have a 42,000-BTU Mitsubishi "Mr. Slim" mini-split in my garage - cools 2600 sq. ft. with no problem (I have separate heat).
