I want to extend the roof on my building by about 18' on one end to provide an extra covered parking space that I can drive through. The existing building is an enclosed pole barn that is finished on the inside with normal trusses on the roof. I am curious what I can use to span the 18' without the need of a post in the center. Also what about steel ladder trusses vs wooden prefab trusses?
I am also looking at doing a 18' lean to on the back and wanted to know if anyone has experience with steel lean to trusses. Specifically how tall are they normally? I am just wondering how much height I will lose due to the thickness of the lean to truss.
