Currently my detached garage has zero venting it’s also currently unfinished. I’m working on finishing it and insulating it but it’s unbearable in the summer so I want to fix airflow first . My roof is metal and is a hip roof ( I think that’s what it is called ) so I have soffits 360 degrees around the garage. I would like to not cut into the roof and cause any water issues . So I was thinking of doing 3 6” round soffit vents on each side of the garage. Will that be enough to get good in and out airflow . I plan to insulate between the joist so the attic area will just remain open . Once I’m done insulating the ceiling I was going to install a powered exhaust fan in the back wall . Curious if this will work or should I consider anything else . Thanks !
