SD,
Know it well! Columbus, Oh. I've heard it's actually turned into a 'tourist must see' spot.

Nice town, but glad to be home again after 30 years!

I'm glad you brought this up Steve. I've been wanting to do a mural on one of my large white cinder block walls. I have a relative that is an awesome painter so i might see if she will help me out. Now I've just gotta find something worth painting on that wall....

*edit.... found the pic I want to use.

'Ya gotta have art!

Steve, that's a great example of a "Trompe L'oeil" (fool the eye) mural!
We have some friends that are in the Wall Mural business (http://www.homestead.com/UponAWallMurals/gallerypage.html), and they created a nice one for our upstairs landing that looks over a lake from a second story balcony.....with a F40 being excersized on a twisty road
We may have them transform a wall in the garage some day (not even drywalled yet ;-), only time will tell.

The murals are pretty neat but, I don't have a spot on my walls that is empty.
I've either got shelves, cabinets or tools hanging.

Do you have a picture of the F40 mural? I put a few more samples up on the webpage. Imagine this being the backdrop for the cars in your garage...you get an idea of the size with the bus coming into the picture on the right.

It's in the upper right of the main section. Here is a shot of Joe using our Pocher 1/8th F40 model as a placement guide, and an extreme close-up of the finished detail.

A mural CAN be relatively easy. Use an overhead projector, project the image on the wall. With pencil, trace the outlines of the image and then "paint-by-numbers" and of course sorta blend so it doesn't look too amateurish.

That is a very interesting thought?
I have a Bedford van in my shed, it has not moved in 23 years, prior to that it sat from 1983 till 1999 in my first shed, prior to that from 1978 to 1982 it was parked in a factory that I was renting. This is possibly the reason why it has absolutely no rust anywhere. Maybe its not considered art as its in bare metal still, just a coat of etch primer.
