I have never seen one, but that sounds like a great idea!

I was at a bar one time and they used a beer keg, cut in half, for the two urinals in the men's bathroom!

I always thought that would be great in my garage so i would not track in dirt and grease into the house.

yea, i have seen those couple of pictures.

i went looking today for the right box for it. i found one on line that has doors under 2 drawers which will be easier for plumbing.

my wife likes a stainless sink sunk in the top with diamondplate as the "counter"

if any of you have pictures of what you have done, it would be great to see them

thanks

well, i am going to find out. i ordered the box today and am looking at sinks.

i will cut down the drawers so the sink will fit and put diamond plate on the top .

should be cool.

an update with pictures.

i ended up have a piece of stainless waterjet cut to the cutout of a stainless bar prep sink. then i cut the top of the tool box out. (the picture shows the stainless on the side that is not polished. i will flip it around when i assemble the sink.)

then cut the drawer locking hardware out and cut the insides of the drawers out. i left the drawer slides in and the drawers still go in and out, but not good for much with no bottom on the top one and the bottom drawer has very little room left over when closed around the sink.

all i have left is to cut out the back for the plumbing and put it all together with the faucets.

i will screw it to the wall to be firm.

turning out pretty cool.

Looks good to me, not sure why you would have any rust issues. if it has a good coat of paint on it.

if it rusts, i will build a better one. i suspect it will be many years down the line.

it is for my garage, not my master bathroom.....and.....i have done lots of quirky things in my garage, this is not the only thing....ha

cannot use a box with drawers on the bottom as that is where the drain plumbing is. this way i can at least set things in the bottom, just like a regular vanity.

i appreciate the nice comments.

I'm not getting these guys saying there will be rust problems. As long as it don't leak, the box is painted, and the op doesn't piss all over it (urine is pretty acidic) I don't get how it will rust out. Yes it might get some rot 30 years from now, but then again 30 years from now who cares? First time I ever saw one done like that I knew I would have to do something like it if I ever build a bathroom for my shop. I dig it bub!

Very neat build. I had ideas of putting steel sides around a poly slop sink to give it more of a industrial look...

What is the bus in the background???

Man I love it. The blue really pops.

I would consider if you have the space to place one of those pumps for soap and maybe another one for a strong base soap/degreaser.

Super cool.

yea, i had seen that one and a few others online as well. the selection of my box was several fold.

1. i like blue
2. i wanted one with drawers on top and doors on the bottom.
3. it had to be the dimensions that i needed
4. i wanted a stainless top (so i had one waterjet cut)
5. had to be affordable. (even though retail is over 300 on the one i got, i got it much much cheaper)

the biggest problem i had was getting one that wasnt damaged in shipping. i went through 3 of them before i got one that was acceptable.

i finished my toolbox sink today. i think it turned out really cool. i put a thin sheet of rubber on top between the sink and box to help deaden the sound. i also put some rubber sheets on the back so as i anchored it to the wall it would also deaden the noise.

the toilet paper holder is 1/2" galvanised pipe.

Looks great.
I saw a couple of rollers with sinks at a truck equipment shop in Green Bay. I think they were Craftsman 46" or so. I don't know if they fabricated them or if Sears has them?
Truck Equipment is the name of the place.

That looks pretty cool. Good job on it. Might I suggest adding or building a tray into the drawers that fit in front of the sink or plumbing? You could put sponges, brillo pads, etc in them. Small items but things you may need and use some of the waste space.

very cool!!!

I agree with maxpower, a couple small trays in the bottom drawer to hold some cleaning supplies or maybe build a lip around the cutout so stuff doesn't fall out of the drawer...

I was at Ford's Garage in Ft. Myers FL last year and thought that their restroom sinks were great
