Yup I have those buddies, We built two shops, landscape a few yards, poured concrete, built engines, cars, tools etc... What starts out as drinking turns into something else. Had a problem with a buddies car after some tests, we started yanking the engine out at 9pm, by 11 it was on the test stand with the heads off. It took just three guys, and some High Life. The other main buddy wanted some help swapping a converter in his car, we did it in his storage unit in a few hrs.

I have a couple friends like this but there are 2 issues with it......

1. They drink all my beer

2. We only work for maybe an hour before the heavy drinking begins and nothing really gets accomplished other than talking about what we should be doing

I've fabricated lots of stuff in my garage for the past few years. Lots of cutting, grinding and welding, even in the hot Summer days.

Just finished a project for my nephew and when we delivered it, my nephew asked my garage bud what his contribution was on the project, he responded "I'm the clamp". Lolol, felt a little bad, but that's what he did a lot of.

Yes, both surprised at what was built and yet also concerned about who was the one tightening all the nuts/bolts since you have no memory of it lol

My very best wrenching buddy now lives in Georgia, but I'm fortunate enough to be able to still do things with the guy that used to own & drive the GT1 car we ran.
