Just curious if you are exempt from permit and inspections in ND?

I have a permit from the township it only cost me $5 and I do have to have inspections before the power company will turn on the power but I don't think it'll cost that much for the inspection just have to have all the plumbing and wiring done before I get the building inspected which hopefully should be in June
But each township is different there might be some where inspections aren't necessary

I was curious about stair and egress from the living space over. Most codes do not allow only egress to be through a garage. Perhaps there is a door at base of stairs out of photo and plan for walls with 5/8 gyp around stair and vestibule.

Egress from storage accessory to garage is fine through garage, but most codes expressly prohibit egress from living space - an apartment in this case - through garages. Also 5/8 drywall ceiling in garage.

first, 1/2" drywall is required, not 5/8".
