Let me be the first to say - Congratulations!

This doesn't mean you can stop posting pics as finish work proceeds! ;-)

pics will continue! Right now I've started insulating, but I'm working long hours for a few weeks so there won't be too much progress. By November I want to have it insulated and have the OSB up on the walls, but we'll see how that goes.

walls are insulated! ceiling is 1/3 insulated. I have 1 sheet of OSB up because all I had were 4 screws. :D very slow progress when you have a 2.5 year old boy who LOVES to help!

:thumbup:Understood! I have a soon to be 5 year old and an 18 month old that both love to "help" me in the garage. Can't beat the time spent with the kiddos out in the garage and outside, but that 3 minute attention span thing can seriously slow down projects!

Lookin' forward to more pics when you are able to get back at it. Great job!

Here are a couple recent pics. Walls are all insulated, ceiling is in progress, and I'm working on finishing the workbenck and OSB for the walls.

It's been slow going! I had to wait for the snow to melt so that I could get a delivery. Now I have 1/2" foam board for the ceiling that I'm going to fasten with screws and plastic washers. I got the rest of my OSB for the walls. Once they're done, I'm going to paint then with white oil-based kilz.

I also got a 75k Mr. Heater cheap, so all I need to do is get that hooked up sometime before next winter.

New plans - a portion of the garage is going to be turned into a business. I'm starting a meadery - Helderberg Meadworks, LLC. I went to the town planning board last week to put in my application. They'll vote on it next month but see no problems with it.

Just ordered my Dannmar lift! Commander 7000. Hopefully I can get it off the truck, but I might have to unpack it a bit first. I have a 35HP New Holland tractor, but I don't think it can lift 1700lbs.

Today I get my paint for the walls. Kilz oil based white.

walls have been primed twice and then painted with eggshell white. Over the long weekend I installed my lift. Dannmar D-7 (Commander 7000). The installation instructions could have been a LOT clearer.

Nice progress! Not sure I'd be putting the Super Beetle over the Chrysler. There was already a puddle on the floor under it. :) (Oh, I think I see a pan under the SB. ;))

Oh, and I think you've got the beer bong backwards, the beer is supposed to go into the funnel, not the funnel into the beer.

That was just a fit-test, but I still put 2 boards and a piece of cardboard to avoid the inevitable oil drip!

you have no idea how many people have commented on that stupid iced tea bottle, though none as funny as the backwards beer bong. :D hydraulic oil. pour from the bucket into the bottle, then from the bottle into the reservoir.

Okay, i have to ask... How high is the ceiling? Because i'm building shortly, and want a 4 post lift, and i'm curious about what height you have there as far as under the car and all that jazz...

It's a 10 foot ceiling. Keep in mind that a VW Beetle is actually pretty tall for a car. The roof is higher than most modern sedans. I would not be able to stack 2 VWs, but maybe 2 sedans. I can take some measurements this weekend.

Thats exactly why I was wondering. Most cars will be low height (Lowered Subarus, Nissans, Lotus, etc), so I'm not THAT concerned with only having 10' ceilings...

It has been forever since I've been here. The garage has gone through a few evolutions.

1. The darker red bug is gone and is a show car now, but it's been replaced by a 1999 911.
2. The tractor's been replaced by a forklift, which has been replaced by a Bobcat S250 skid steer.
3. The 3 bay garage became a 2 bay with the man-door side being turned into a winery.
4. Then the winery somehow shrunk and the 2 bay garage got turned into a single bay with all 3 cars in it so that I could have more room.
5. The winery shrunk again and we bought land and will soon have a very nice Morton building on it to expand the winery a 3rd time.

My sig has what I've been doing in the garage... :rocker:
