I bought one because i saw a couple of posts about it awhile ago. I finally hooked it up and am having some problems with it. Has anyone else had problems with it?

I've had a Garage Butler installed for about a year. In fact, just installed my second Garage Butler on the smaller of the two garage doors only two weeks, or so, ago. Both installs were easy; both systems have been working flawlessly. Before I did the 2nd install I did have to find a "Ghost" problem that caused the GD to open/close as it wished. I tracked the problem down to a intermittent shorting wire in the remote button.

I like the Garage Butler and highly recommend it.

What problems are you having?

On-Off switch doesn't do anything and it doesn't sense the open door. I contacting the manufacturer It's probably the module. Just pissed as it took a couple of hours to make it look neat.

IIRC, the Garage Butler is to be linked into the remote button; it does not supplant it. So, have you installed it in parallel with the GB? Some garage door openers won't open if you simply short the remote button wiring. There's a load required on the end of the lines. When the button is depressed it changes the resistance the GDO sees a state change and opens the door.

What type of GDO do you have? Is the button a simple contact make/brake type. Can you simply short the wire and have the GDO open?

"The Garage Butler is a device that will automatically close your garage door when you forget. You can NOW have peace of mind knowing that you NEVER have to worry about leaving it open ever again.

The garage door will close after a time delay of 3-10-20-30-45 or 60 minutes. Usually the shorter time is ideal, however in the winter time when one would like to start the car and let it warm up, a longer time is preferred to prevent the build-up of deadly exhaust fumes."

I was wondering too. Is it a way to get cold beer if you don't have a fridge in the garage?

Ah! Can't tell you how many times I've circled the block and done a drive-by because I couldn't remember if I closed it or not. As soon as I get my stupid opener fixed ill have to check into these.
