Garage Cabinet Decision: Advice Needed!

Hello!

I have just recently joined this board, and like what I see! Hence the reason for my post:

I have recently bought a new house with attached 23X23.5 foot garage. The garage needs finishing, and I would like to find a cabinet solution that gives me the best bang for the buck without having to try and build something (wood working skills are not that great)

I have a line on some old kitchen cabinets (Base cabinets) that are 9.5 feet long and the place is asking $300.00 canadian for them. This is what it looks like:

I'm not quite sure that these are worth the $300 i was quoted, and he said that if i didn't want the top we could negotiate.

Please advise on what I should do? Thanks!

If all your getting is what's in the pic. They are not worth $300. Take the $300 and build yourself some benchs.

I see **** like that on the curb. It looks like 4 pieces with one top. The top is useless with the sink cutout. Offer them 50.00 to 100.00 or keep looking.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I figured they were overpriced for what they were.

Hit-By-Thunder: I live in Edmonton! If you could help me out, or know someone who has some cabinets they would part with, that would be great!

Thanks again for the quick replies!

I think the only thing I would negotiate is how much HE wanted to pay to have them hauled off. I don't see one thing special about the top that would make ANYTHING worth negotiating. He should LOWER the price just to get someone to take the top with the base units. Shop around at some of the box stores. Sometimes they have Scratch & Dents for way cheap. Or just buy some lumber and build your own. There are a couple of threads in here on cabinets.

OZZMOSIS.... Edmonton EH??

South of ya on the #2 in Cowtown!

My thinking for you is Kijiji, put a wanted ad in for used kitchen cabinets and offer them some cash for hauling away, better yet a flat of Molson Canadians work wonders!!

There MIGHT be a site similar to UsedCalgary.com for Edmonton?

Send me your email and i sure would like to BS with ya over garages?

I have to agree with the above.
If anything they should pay you for removal.
They get them to the curb and you take them from there.
