Garage cabinets

Most Ikea cabs are NOT made from MDF. They do have MDF bracing here and there, but the main panels are particle board. This is coming from a guy who installed an entire Ikea kitchen, which included cutting up a couple cabinets and modifying them, just a few months ago.

$6000+ for mdf? Not even close to worth it IMO.

I thought the same thing until I actually saw them in person. The powder coat is very hard. Also all the drawers are dovetail construction Baltic birch.

Damn those look great. I'ma likin' the pull out parts bins. Any other hidden goodies like that in any of the other cabinets?



Just out of curiosity, any idea as how those compare to the IKEA kitchen cabinets? Heavier built, thicker wood? What makes me curious is how those have legs that keep them off of the floor and IKEA are about the same way plus IKEA's are made from MDF also.


$6000 may seem a little steep, but I'd say location may play a part, but they do have a lifetime warranty, as long as the company is in business for a lifetime. I'm sure it added a little equity to the house if you would ever go to sell.

The three bottom cabinets have pullout shelves each can hold 100lbs!
Also all the drawers are full extension.
Not sure of the Ikea. We chose to put legs on the last cabinet because of the vice. They usually don't require legs.
The tall cabinets are actually supported by three metal rails.
I actually compared these to others and the price is about the same for similar cabinets. That includes shipping and installation.

Hey Guys ,

I'm looking to put a stereo and a DVR in my garage, but its kinda dusty. Does anyone know of a cabinet I can use to keep the dust out of them? Right now I don't have any style of cabinets or anything I have to match.

how are the top storage cabinets mounted? I don't see any crossmembers like the bottom cabinets.
