Hey guys,
I'm looking for some input. I'm going to build a section of kitchen style cabinets (upper and lower), the bottom will be for things like sawzalls, jigsaws circular saws, routers and stuff like that.
My question is would building drawers for the lower cabinets be beneficial instead of doors? I'm thinking the drawers could help from having tools stacked on other tools... In general I thought the drawers would be easier to organize.

Thoughts and opinions welcome

Yes it will be but careful of the weight you puttin on the slides. Myself I am doing a mix of the two as I really don't have anything big that I need down that low other than the chopsaws.

I have doors and drawers, I like the drawers a lot more than the doors. I have put drawers behind some of the doors (open door, pull out drawer).

I built all drawer bases under my miter saw table. They hold everything I need : hand tools, routers, sanders, etc, etc.

Definitely drawers, but use full-extension ball bearing slides rated for at least 100 pounds/pair. They aren't cheap but you won't regret spending the money. Quality slides make a HUGE difference.

Kudos to you for building your own cabinets. The more drawers the better. In my lower cabinets I find myself stacking hand power tools, not so wonderful. Here is a pretty crappy video of my shop and cabinets, but maybe you'll get some ideas.

AB9NZ, great setup! I would be very content with the wide variety of equipment...right down to the Ham rig. 73

Like rcktsled said, full extension ball bearing guides rated for 100 lbs.. Build your drawer box 1" narrower than the cabinet opening. Figure out what tools you'll be putting in each drawer to determine the depth needed.
