Anyone have a recommendation for a garage ceiling fan less than $400?

I'm finishing up insulating the garage and have an infared heater and 12' ceilings. While installing the insulation at the top, it is noticeably warmer at the top than on the ground (big surprise). Its a 4 car garage, so I'm thinking I need a bigger one or 2 fans.

In a 4 car garage I would recommend at least 2 fans. In the 30'x26' 2 car section of my 3 car (12.5' ceiling) I have one 64" fan that was a display model at Lowes. They were replacing it with a newer model and I got the display for $50.00. It helps in the summer, but even on high I was hoping for more airflow than this provides. In a larger space, I think two fans would be more effective. In winter, on low it does help more evenly distribute heat from the NG unit heater.

I’ve got a pair of 52” fans in my 28x30 with 14’ ceilings. Keeps the temp very stable year round.

In my point of view, we can have a 52' to 60' ceiling fan for 4-car garage. It should give the ample ventilation in the workshop. Another question is your garage bright enough? If you already have ample shop lights, we need to make sure that the ceiling fan doesn't have lights on it. It is usually cheaper.

I am also planning to add the quiet and windy ceiling fan in the garage just like in this site

The ceiling fans have the pretty affordable price, says $100 to $300.

For What Its worth;
Figure out where the local houses are for sale, drive by about a week after closing and pick up the ceiling fans the new owners just replaced! I've gotten 4 of them this way! Garage, Porch and Shop have some nice fans!

I have several of these in my 1600 sf shop....they work excellent. Use the search function and you'll find numerous threads on this topic, and you'll also find a slew of people here that have the same opinion of these as me, FWIW.

I had two of these in my 30x40 and they were excellent! If you crank them up, they will blow around loose items and small children in the garage - they move some serious air. I'm getting ready to grab two more of these for my current garage.

I bought two 50+ inch ceiling fans for my 875sf shop. One was free and the other was $20. The shop temperature is never stratified. I found both of the fans on Craigslist.

I have multiple fans in my shop. All are on speed controls and all are industrial type fans not residential. The industrial fans have a higher blade angle and will move more air than a residential fan at the same speed. I can run my fans at a very low speed with no issues.

My shop is roughly 20 x 40, with 15 ft ceilings. I run a Modine unit heater during the winter and want to make my energy usage more efficient. I am thinking about a pair or 84 inch fans running at low speed. Does anybody think this is to much? Would a pair of 62 inch fans be better? I'm not looking to feel a breeze I just want to capture some of the heat I am losing.
BTW I am also upgrading my ceiling insulation for efficiency.
Thanks,
Curt

Timely thread for me. Just had a 40x60 metal building built and still haven’t pulled electrical. I think that I’ll plan on the Home Depot industrial fans.

I recall an older thread and as stated the concensus on GJ is they are good.

I'm keeping an eye out for a ceiling fan to put in my garage as well. I saw this one at the local Lowe's a few days ago and kind of like the curved blade design.

I think you prefer quality first because it uses less electricity as compare to some cheaper fan..
