I have a standard size two car garage that has popcorn covered drywall with a few cracks mainly along the tape seam lines. I don't want to redo the drywall but would instead cover it with something decent looking for not too much money. I figured I'd need to scrape the popcorn off before doing anything. Any ideas out there?

good chance the popcorn has asbestos in it, so it's probably not a good idea to start scraping it.
what are you doing in the garage, what are your tastes? etc.. I did mine with pine tongue & groove , just because I got it for next to nothing, but I do like the look too!

I just had a popcorn ceiling removed. The company that did it for me had a machine with a vacuum attached that really kept the mess down. Certa-pro painters was the name of the company, very happy with them. Hope it's ok to say that. If you don't have the equipment and experience that popcorn is a real PIA.
