So I built me a new workbench, the new is taller than my old bench I had. At the old bench I could sit in an old office chair I have and be almost even to work on my RC cars. Now the new table is a good 8 inches higher so it's kind of hard. My question, has anyone every took and old chair and built it taller? I was thinking I'd build a box around the base and put some new taller casters on it. Think it would work?

Why not? It will give you a place to put your feet. Beware, however, that your CG is higher now and you could tip over easier. that would be especially true if you have an older 4 caster model and only duplicate the 'wheel base'.

Yeah I'm going to go larger on the base.
