Garage cleaned up with trim

Here are a few pictures of my 3 bay garage measuring 25 feet by 35 feet.

I capped the steel support beams with solid pine, stained and 3 coats of marine varnish.

Sand, mud and painted the walls and ceiling.

Did the floor with RaceDeck REVolution, 2 feet black around the outside with graphite in the middle. Jen at RaceDeck was super nice and great to deal with, solid product/company.

The final part will be to cover up the back concrete wall with siding or something that will be able to handle the pressure washer. And some real cabinets , shelves etc.

Phenominal. (A little too shiny for me, but that'll dull hopefully.) Really going to look like a showroom!

I went with a marine varnish which only came in high gloss. Since I like to power spray off the floor, it is great for protecting the beams from water, the water just rolls off.

Overall it took some time but I am happy with the results.

Looks great, you did however limit the usefulness of having a nice size I beam overhead in the garage.

The wood gives it an air of class. But the JD takes away from that feeling. So to restore your feeling of classiness, I will be willing to park that JD in my humble garage for the mear price of nothing. You wouldn't even have to pay storage fees. That what members are for right?



Really though, the wood looks great. Great idea to cover the metal support columns and beams.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I was worried because some of my friends that see the work are calling me crazy haha.

I regards to not using the beams anymore for lift, I never had any intentions of doing that, the beam is a major support beam with a 1500 lbs pool table right above. Never had any ideas to lift things off it.

Also for the offer of parking the JD at your place thanks for the offer the funny part is my new Toyota truck sits outside before my toy tractor hahah.

Here is the final trim I did today of the windows and doors.

inuface, I can't remember the final cost for the floor. At the same time I bought 1000 sq feet of the sports floor from them to use in my shop. I just called and chatted with Jen. They offer discounts to members from this site. Give her a call she is very friendly and easy to deal with.

Marty_P you are right it took some time. The staining, sanding, 3 coats of marine varnish with sanding in between took way longer than the actual construction work.

In the end I am happy with the end result. Now I just have to cover the back concrete wall
