I did a search but didn't come up with anything. I'm trying to come up with an idea to build a unique extra large clock. Like 36" or bigger in diameter. Let's see your clocks.

I have an old non-functional clock set at 5 with a sign next to it that says “It is always Five O’clock here”. Close to that is a fridge with beer, hard cider, and pre-made margaritas.

Here’s mine. General Electric. 12 inch face. Probably about 50-60 years old. Keeps perfect time. Rather plain. Not at all titillating. :)

That's exactly the kind of clock I prefer. Good contrast between the hands and backround make it easy to read without any extra clutter.

It reminds me of the ones that used to be in the hallways way back when I was in school.

That is the exact clock I am looking for. I absolutely hated how slow they ran in school, now I guess I need to bring back all those horrible memories all over again.

Thanks guys!

Here is a shot from a couple of years ago when I had this very similar but older clock in that spot. It started making noise and ended up stopping. The Telechron movement was too expensive to fix, so I put that one up on a shelf and replaced it with the one you saw in my earlier post.

Yes, it’s possible to replace the movement with a battery powered one, but I didn’t want to go that route. That would probably end up with different hands.

I had an air cleaner lid like this one for over 20 years, just recently turned it into a clock. The movement fit perfectly through the hole in the center. Ill try to get a pic of the actual clock.

Swmbo got me this clock and decided to get the metal sign to go with it. I hung onto it for over a year trying to come up with the best way to use it. The pair look great at the entrance of my garage.

^^Always wanted a nixie tube clock, but I don't have the soldering skills to do a pcb kit and can't justify the cost of a prefab unit.^^

This is what I use. You can see it anywhere in my shop. Plus it’s a great conversation piece.
The clock is 44” in diameter and is mounted over an 8’ foot door. It’s made from sheet of expanded steel(utility trailer flooring) with 22” hands clock kit(eBay). The center chrome piece is an hubcap(I think it’s from an old Plymouth sedan). I used a piece of black fuel line and split the tubing to trim the outer circumference of the clock.
Keeps great time!

Wow! That's a great looking clock. Almost like a clock tower inside your garage. Very neat.

Amazon released a new "Echo Wall Clock", where you can set a countdown timer and it shows it on the wall. I've thought about getting one for my garage, so you can time how long you're in there, etc.

Just an old Harley-Davidson decal added to an even older clock face plate.

Sent from my iPhone using Garage Journal

I might have to copy that. I even have an old clutch disc laying around that was slated for the landfill.

If I live long enough (it's way down the list) I plan to make a tower clock movement. I plan to use a 14', two second beat pendulum. I'm trying to figure out how to make linkage so that the clock movement itself will be closer to ground level so you can see it operate. The pivot point of the pendulum of course has to be at least 14' from the floor.
