I want to draw up plans for my Garage (pole barn)
and am trying to find approxamite costs per square foot for complete and partial construction.

I have one number, from a builder of $13.50 per sq ' for 14' high and 4" concrete.

I have a budget to work with and do not want to waste a contractors time with something too big , or too small.

Partial construction would be concrete and frame, we do siding and roofing.

I am in lower middle Michigan.

Thanks :)

Mine was about $90/sq'. All depends on the area the construction is though.

For that money, build it big and build it NOW!

I would be suprised if you can get away with an unfinished space for less than $50/SqFt - especially with crete.

i was quoted right around $28k for a 30x50 with 12' walls, 3 10x10 doors, and 5" concrete. That's right around $19 a foot. That's for a basic pole barn with metal siding and a shingled roof. Also think it included a 10' overhang on the back for additional storage.

Yeah - it depends on your construction type and where you live. I guess I was assuming stick built construction on a footer with a few courses of block.

You guys are coming up with some very low build numbers......maybe I need to re-locate!

The best bid I just got (from a reputable contractor) was $12.50/sq ft for a 30x40x12 with 4" fiber concrete, and a 36" entry door and 14x10 overhead door.

I believe I was quoted $7.50/sq.ft. at Home Depot for my stick built garage. And for the framing package, it was about spot on.

**edit**
That was with me already doing the foundation and slab.

I'm doing a 30x40 stick building. The concrete is going to cost 11,500. This is all excavation, 4" thick floor, 8"x 4' footings and an 18'x 2' apron for the single garage door. The stick building quote was 18,300. This is 30x40x10' with oversize trusses to make a 4' overhang in front. I'm going for the look of an old barn/garage, so it will have pine car siding and eves with a galvanized corrugated roof. This also includes 3 windows and side door. I'm supplying the 18'x8' garage door. If I have all this done it works out to about $25 a sq ft. Good price? Or should I get a quote to frame it out and then finish the rest myself? This is all new to me.

Man, I wish I could get a garage built down here for that price. I'm at ~$45 / ft but that's block construction garage fully insulated, plumbed, finished walls and ceiling, 150 AMP electrical, 18x8 Insulated 140 MPH impact rated door w/ jackshaft opener, tongue and groove attic flooring and painted floor. That price does not include the 25 x 28 pad in front of the unit, the 10x30 parking pad on the side and the connector concrete to hook into the front driveway. All totaled I'll be into this garage for about $47K :shocking:

It's 22' deep x 28' wide x 12' high.
