Garage Conversion: Floor options

Hi there,

I am partitioning my garage into an office/sitting area, and a garage/storage area. It will be partitioned with a stud wall.

I was wondering what is the best option for flooring on the office side of the divide? I was thinking LVP, but wasn't sure if it was suited to a concrete garage floor. I would like to have a wooden floor look to it.

The garage was only finished 2 or 3 months ago. The previous owner built it before we bought the house. It has a DPM below the polished concrete floor.

If you could include what prep is needed with the floor type (moisture barrier/underlay etc), that would be great. Some photos are below.

Thanks, Brendan.

LVP would work as long as the floor is pretty flat. You could go with a wood look tile as well. Neither should require any kind of vapor barrier.

Thanks a lot. I liked the idea of LVP because it's click install and does not need glued/sealed to the concrete.

Would laminate with a vapor barrier work, or is that just asking for trouble?

Thanks, Brendan.
