Hello from Finland and welcome to my Garage!

Garage is 2-car garage with separate space for garden tools. There is also some space at attic for not so often needed items.

Garage is currently under much needed renovation. Here is some list to do:

  • Insulation [DONE]
  • Heating [DONE]
  • New Floor [DONE]
  • New Drywalls (walls&ceiling) [DONE]
  • More lights [DONE]
  • More electric sockets [DONE]
  • Anything else (reading GJ doesn't help)

Garage is 6m x 8,1m (about 19'8" x 26'3") with additional storage for garden tools. Total size is 6m x 10,44m (about 19'8" x 34'3"). These are inside measurements. Garage was originally build in 1996 by previous owners and is mostly in good condition.

That is a nice looking building. Sounds like you will just about have a new garage when you get done with it.

Thank you! Hopefully most of the to-do-list will be completed soon, winter is coming...

You have some really nice organization solutions, might copy something from you when I complete renovation.

During this sanding project my new workshop table arrived. I decided to build it right away, nice break from boring mudding/sanding.

My old table (green table in first picture of this post) is really is really flimsy, but this one is really solid and with adjustable height which is nice feature to have.

That's going to be a real nice garage! I hate the mudding and sanding, and putting drywall to the roof is not exactly my favorite job either. Weird that the previous owner didn't insulate that, as it is proper garage.

BTW, those LED lightstrips look good. Are they connected to a Hue hub? I ordered some chinese light strips couple of years ago. One of them started flicking through all the colours after half a year, making it a disco on the front yard. Haven't used them since, I will order some quality light strip for this winter. More difficult is to find some that is warm yellow and not bright white.

I wonder if anyone likes mudding and sanding, probably not. There is also some other weird decisions by previous owners in the house, but we are making some modifications to better suit our taste and needs.

Yes, i have a Hue hub so i can control color, brightness and color temperature. I don't have much experience of Lightstrip+ yet, but so far i can recommend this set.

Mikkeli just awesome and thank you for sharing:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Thank you 1/2 Cup! Sharing is caring :lol_hitti

Homepod on my new workbench along with some Raspberry Coca-Cola. Homepod with Apple Music has been really nice addition to working in the Garage.

I'll add some pictures later today: @Night version.

You can never have enough light! That looks well illuminated. The homepod must be great in the garage. I use a bluetooth amplifier with car speakers to listen to podcasts. Even though there are varied opinions that, can you concentrate on multiple things at the same time => can you start working on an engine and listen to music.

Looking good!

Thank you! Do you have own thread here? I'd like to see more Finnish builds/garage updates.

That's true! There was only two fluorescent tube lights in the Garage before, difference is huge.
Background music helps me to concentrate to do other things. Voice controlled playback is a good feature, no need to use dirty hands to control playback.

Mikkeli your lighting looks a treat, well done.

Thank you, I'm really impressed with the result.

What type of drywall are you using? The brown color is new to me. How thick is it?

Robust Gyproc by Saint Gobain. Thickness is 12,5mm (about 1/2"). Here is some additional information in English: Specs

Hmm, that's something a hadn't thought of, thanks. As I already have smartthings and hue hub, I would like to extend the range to the garage, and this would be a a very good reason...

I put a black stripe as I didn't have fixed color yet (red or blue). It will probably depend on if I get a lift then that will decide the main secondary color. Also, if I get a racedeck flooring, just the availability of the tiles will probably be a factor :)

Will look good any way you decide to make it.

Martini racing colors are cool, dont tell.. you have Lancia Delta integrale?

Martini Racing colors are cool indeed, but i don't have Delta Integrale or any other vehicle sponsored by Martini Racing.

I think that black stripe is going to be my choice. That should look good together with black door and window frames.

Any plance about floor, Mikkeli? There is marks from the spike tires, painting, epoxy?

Yes, i have plans to repair the floor and i'd like to have Racedeck flooring. This is going to happen probably next summer.

I would also need that heat pump. That must be nice especially in the fall/spring when it can dehumidify the air?

You can never have a big enough work bench :) The better it is organized, the easier it is to keep everything in order.
