Yeah, I calculated that for roughly 40m2 would already cost around 1500€ which is roughly 2000$. Also, in our climate I think the freeflow is best, so that the snow goes under the racedeck.

I would also need that heat pump. That must be nice especially in the fall/spring when it can dehumidify the air?

You can never have a big enough work bench :) The better it is organized, the easier it is to keep everything in order.

That's true, I'm trying to get everything organised in the Garage. I mean proper place for every tool and spare part, not just piles of stuff lying around.

Racedeck sure looks good, i think Motonet is selling that here in Finland?

I think my choice is also freeflow Racedeck. Here is floor pattern that I like a lot: RAD Garage

 I remember when following the thread, Rick showed how he cleans the floor. Usually just wiping it down, and then once in a while taking the whole thing out of the garage for washing. It was that thread that made me want the freeflow, as his experiences were positive, and his climate kind of same than ours.

I'm sure you probably have read the thread also, but here it is if someone is popping on here and hasn't seen it:

Hi, I really like how your garage is coming together. It's nice seeing people's shops/garages from other countries. I think you are going to enjoy it. The color scheme is great. Thanks for taking the time to post your progress.

You are really making some great progress. That paint job was a great choice. Thanks for the updates. I’ll be watching for more!

Thank you! Now is time to get some (temporary) cabinets and workbench painted and assembled. New floor is planned for next summer.

I like the gray, black, and white color scheme. Garage is coming along nicely!

Thanks, I'm happy with the result. This was my first proper paint job, so there is room to improve. Now to install door and window frames.

TO ALL

Here is some pictures of old wooden cabinet (made in Finland by Kolho Oy, accurate manufacturing year is unknown but somewhere between 1928-1959) and frames for windows and doors.

Here is some pictures of my dedicated home theater (used to be attached single garage). It was build during first year after we moved to this house. Proper home theater had been my long-time dream.

As most projects, this home theater isn't finished/completed, it's constantly evolving and getting better.

Anyway here is couple of older pictures, I'll post some new pictures later.

I’m planning on doing the floor next summer as well.

Those cabinets turned out great. It’s hard thinking they are the same ones. Great work.

I bought some Stanley Fatmax Organisers to get rid of numerous small boxes, plastic bags and small paper bags.

Painted foundation (is this correct word) and installed aluminium list to protect drywall.

Also found some nice handles for my cabinet project, looking good.

Here you can see tiny original handles, quite a difference.

Here is my workbench at the moment. Metal cabinet (green one) is my next project. More black paint :)

More organisation, I remembered some old Treston magazines for small parts. These came with the house from the previous owner, time to finally clean these. Also I need proper drill storage for my Makita power tools.

More sorting... I need to build cabinet for my storage cases. If I get something done, I'm getting at least two new project ideas, thanks to GJ.

The storage cases are really handy. No more digging in multiple places for small parts and you can see all the smaller boxes at a glance. I only have 4 of them with things I use all the time. It's easy to know what's on hand and when to buy more.

Looking good! That is a new home theatre! And really good work on the cabinet, it seems now part of the garage, and the handles make a huge difference.

I will be getting those storage cases, seems handy! I already have a couple but low quality ones and different sizes, meaning all the little stuff go from one compartment to the other etc... Any suggestion which are good one to get around here?

Home theater looks good, nice work!

Thank you, it's my pride and joy. It has been upgraded after those pics to include 3D projector and Dolby Atmos / DTS:X sound systems with 9.1.2 setup. Acoustically transparent screen in 2.35:1 ratio might be next upgrade.

Handy for sure. These Stanley cases seem to be high quality with metal latches and waterproof (dust proof) seal. Clas Ohlson is one reseller for these: Stanley Fatmax storage case. -20% off if buy at least two cases. I bought mine from local K-Rauta (24€ per case). Highly recommended!

I had similar situation before i started my Garage renovation. Too much "useless" stuff and no proper storage solutions. I didn't even have any toolbox.

And you need your own thread for your organization project, something that i've been waiting for. Just remember to take some "before" pictures, something that i forgot to do.

I need to do some sorting as well. My Dad had coffee cans all over full of random nuts, bolts, screw, and nails. I got that from him! I remember him even pulling nails and then using a hammer to “straighten” them.

Thanks! Need to check the newsletter email for Clas Ohlson, as it sometimes contains discounts... With these boxes, I feel you really get what you pay for.

Heh, what's wrong with that? Been there, done that and bought the t-shirt :D But seriously, I have created a tin for "misc" screws and nails. That's the one I always refer to if I need just one or two for a specific task.

My Dad had similar habits. It was almost impossible to find specific screws without asking from Dad where those screws might be. I hope that when i'm finished with organizing i'm able to find any screw or bolt easily and without time loss.

I forgot to mention that there is also shallow version of these Stanley Fatmax storage cases available, same box configuration but about half of the height compared to deep storage cases that i bought. Clas Ohlson sells only deep version but K-rauta sells both versions: shallow version.

I think as soon as I have enough money back on my credit card, will order some from Clas Ohlson, as they have -20% from everything right now. Thanks for the tip!
