I ordered a truckload of Gladiator stuff through this website and it was delivered directly by the manufacturer, Whirlpool. The drivers were professional and the product was great.
I followed with a small order and got one very dented shelf delivered today. Looks like a Fed Ex problem.
The customer service at GarageDealer.com has been excellent so far. I'm told they will reorder and ship before I return the damaged item - we shall see.
So far I'm very pleased with their response to this problem.

Well, they did not get back to me in 24 hours as promised but....when I called today I found that the problem was taken care of. A new item was already shipped and they will be taking back the damaged unit. Looks like Garage Dealer is a winner so far.

Sounds like they're doing right by you so far. Lately, Fedex has been leaving me more damaged goods than not, vs. UPS and USPS. I've been trying to avoid Fedex.

Keep us updated.

Update:
I was supposed to leave the damaged unit out for pick-up but nobody ever told me (or the Garage Dealer customer service rep) that the new one was coming yesterday and not Friday so.... I got a second shelf that is also slightly dented. It is clear that the packaging is insufficent and it allows the edges of the shelf to get smashed once the box is put on its end.
I told Garagedealer not to worry - this one is usable. However, the customer service rep (Tamara who is great) is pissed. She told me to keep both shelves (don't really need to) and now, she wants Whirlpool to send me another type of shelf. She told me that she has spoken with Whirlpool many times about the shelf I ordered. Apparently, this is a frequent problem due to the way the unit is packed. She also told me that she may have finally got them to review the way they are packing this item so sounds like a good result all around. I would order from this site again. They really stand behind the customer and act as a very efficient liason with the manufacturer.
So the score is: Whirlpool 0
Garagedealer.com 100% (recommondation from me.)
Me 3 (shelves

So, in this case, it appears it was not a FedEx problem as originally alleged.

FedEx and FedEx Ground are totally separate entities, and, as such, have different track records. We should strive to delineate between the two when making public comments, either good or bad.

I have never had good service from either of them. I don't live in an area that they deliver to on a regular basis, so they just return my packages as undeliverable. Never a problem with UPS. The only good news about DHL is that they are leaving the US market. It is UPS or USPS for me..

Can anyone varify the MSRP of the Galadiator stuff? It seemed like the MSRP were a little high on Garage Dealer's site. Some (not all) of their sale prices were beat by Sears reg. prices

Let me get this straight: they don't have full service to your area yet you expect them to service your address with "good service?" That's like dissing a Ford dealer because he isn't totally set up to work on a Chrysler. You can blame them because they don't service your address: they can blame you for living in an out-of-service area. YMMV.

Fed ex freight is a good company for my business. I don't recommend them for small packages. I use UPS and have never had a problem. My company uses both every day and i have seen a huge problem with Fed ex small packages. Please don't use them or you will be sorry. My company with through a big headache and it was a nightmare chasing down packages.
