My father showed me all the ropes on car repair and such. With my new 40x60 garage, I want to show him how much I appreciate all he has done for me by dedicating it to him.
I am thinking of a very nice plaque with a pic of him and I on it.
The words I want to inscribe are kind of hard to put together.
I came up with this….

This Garage is dedicated to my hero, mentor and father. Charles Harry Rodgers
Thank You for showing me strength, resilience, right from wrong and mechanical skills needed in life.

What do you think?? Should I say it differently????

FYI: He is a 96 year old WWII vet still kicking (barely)

I bet he would be honored by your sincere words. I wouldn't change a thing. Congrats on the new garage!

Well based on ya'll's answers I went to a local plaque/award shop today.
I got a nice 8x10, cherry wood plaque with a nice pic and the above wording. Even the lady there was about to tears when we talked about my dad.

I had two state flags flown over our state capital on fathers day a few years ago. One for him and the other for me. He flies his still to this day proudly. I had mine folded properly and placed in a triangle box. To be brought out after his death. Then it will adorn the wall with this plaque. For now I will be happy he is alive and seeing my dreams come true.

thanks 56RPM! That helps me know I am doing a good thing.
