Will it harm a stand alone dehumidifier to get exposed to freezing temps?
I'm up in Massachusetts, and have a dehumidifier to keep moisture condensation down. I removed the dehumidifier in the Fall, to protect it from freezing, since I thought it might crack some internal lines. Is that necessary? I'd be easier to keep it in the shop, so I can run it during a warm spell.

P.S. The manual from Frigidare doesn't say either way. Web search showed a manual for the LG brand that says to protect the dehumidifier from freezing temps. And a call to the service center wasn't helpful.
