Hey everybody just wanted to introduce myself, names matt i customize and build cars for fun, looking to put up a shop soon at home so my cars dont accumulate anymore rust than they already have.im looking to do a wood construction about 60x50 ive searched and im tired of looking at the same stuff over and over. the plans im finding are smaller than what i have in mind. i have a floorplan i drew up but dont know how to go about finding what it would cost to make it a reality, or something similar to my drawing already with specs. if any of you out there can help i would appreciate it.

Maybe you could get a few quotes from different builders. Even without a formal drawing, I'd think they'd at least be able to give you a ballpark idea as to what the cost would be. I could be wrong, but it may at least be worth a try.

I'd figure 30-40 dollars p/square foot 50'x60' = $100,000.00
With a building that size and depending where you are located you could save a lot by using steel siding on the back and sides and dress up the front with brick and or the new cedar shake type vynl siding. The siding companies are now making board and batten type vynl siding too. Good luck.

Are you looking for open bays 50 ft wide? The costs go up quite a bit for any trusses longer than 40'. The prices are really going to depend on finshes, steel roofing/siding vs asphalt/siding, wall height etc. There are some steel building sites and pole barn web sites that will give you generic 1 floor diy prices.

I would say from your drawing/sketch, it will be more in the neighborhood of $125+ sft. I don't know your location and that will influance the cost too.

e-mail me the floor plan and I can get a lot closer. [email protected]

Ah, I know exactly wher you are now. My cousin lives down the road in Fullerton. Are you zoned commercial or residential. I am sure you have checked into what the taxes would be too.
