Garage Design Ideas

Hello, I am torn between two designs of a garage. They are both 20'x30, but one I will use attic trusses to get a little attic space and an office. The roof will also have a shed dormer to look out at the mountain views from up there. The ceiling height in this garage would be 9' tall. The total height for this building is 18' tall, but my house is only at 14'.

My other design is for a shed roof garage that has the top of one side with windows and doors to let the light in. In this design the one side of garage gives me a height of 10' and slopes to 8' on the other side. This garage would be more modern and give me more ceiling height on one side. This would also only be a total height of 11'.

Help im torn between the two. I would like the extra attic space but this would cost me more money and time. I love the look of the modern garage but I loose the attic.

What are your thoughts? I attached some pics.

Some pics of the property/house/view would be helpful. Questions to ask yourself:

1) How will the garage design look with the house?
2) Will you really make daily use of the second story office; good R.O.I.?
3) If you ever add a second story addition to the house, will the garage office block the view from the house?
4) What does the wife think? If you're "torn", she can make up your mind for you. lol
