I am looking for a way to render my garage ideas in some type of software.

Looking for something that will be rather easy to use plug & play kind of mentality. Id like to lay everything out so I don't miss anything or may not like the layout of the garage when its all done.

Any suggestions is appreciated!

Give Sketchup a try. It's free, and you can download tons of 3D models so you don't have to start from scratch on everything.

I've used AutoCAD at work for the last 27 years, and have drawn up multiple iterations of my future garage with it, in both 2D and 3D. However, I've recently given Sketchup another try and was amazed at how much easier and faster it is to use for this sort of thing. There are short online videos to teach you the basics too.

Definitely go with Sketchup and take 2 hours to go through the basic tutorials. It will unleash a whole new world of capability. I still try to do a tutorial now and again to keep my skills sharp. The 3D warehouse is also a tremendous resource to take advantage of. I also use AutoCAD for work but find Sketchup much more powerful and intuitive for my home projects.
